Serbia started violently in the first set. From the very beginning, she resisted Italy, which took a little time to get used to the ambience. Zoran Terzić's team made a series of 5: 2, but the Italians responded with the same measure and equalized the result to 7: 7. in the continuation, both teams took turns in the lead, but Serbia was more specific in the end. Milena Rasic and Tijana Boskovic brought the lead to the host, who won the last two points in a masterful way - 26:24. Milena Rasic played the best set in the course of the championship so far, and the fact that she won 6 out of 7 points from the attack speaks in favor of that.
Italy opened the second set better. He led the team of Davide Macanti with 5: 2, then with 10: 8, but Serbia managed to catch the connection. From that moment, they played point for point, until the result of 20:19, when Serbia took the lead for the first time. The Serbians had an advantage of 22:20, but then a series of five-point Italians followed, which equalized them in sets - 25:22. Paula Egono finished the second period with 7 points, the same as Tijana Bošković.
On the wings of great fans in the "Stark Arena", Serbia started the third set in a masterful way. He led the team of captain Maja Ognjenović with 5: 1 and 11: 7, but Italy managed to take the lead, and then to turn it around (13:12). Soon, the Italians gained a bigger advantage, and a little later, a turnaround - 25:19.
Italy was more concrete and convincing in the fourth set. The game of Serbia stopped, while the Italians continued in the same rhythm from the previous part. In that way, Italy came out as the winner both from the set (25:11) and from the match -3: 1
Serbia won its seventh medal at the European Championships, and its second silver.
